Primeras Impresiones…!

¡¡Boas a todos!!

?? Me llamo Stela y vengo  de Grecia. Me encanta estar en la naturaleza y hacer senderismo, cuidar al ambiente, así que cuando vi este proyecto  en facebook, pensé  que era una oportunidad única. Así, después de un viaje largo, un día llegué a Santiago.

Siguieron los dias de la formación, cuando, además,  conocí a los demás voluntarios, su motivación, sus expectativas. Una experiencia muy interesante de todos los aspectos. Algunas de las actividades que hicimos me impresionaron, como por ejemplo elegir una carta del juego Dixit para definir como nos vemos a nosotros mismos en el programa. Y me di cuenta de que para nosotros este projecto, como para los peregrinos el Camino es, también, un  viaje personal.

El día 4 llegamos ya a Lugo. Y puede que nuestra residencia  me hubiera decepcionado (al principio al menos) un poco, pero el centro de la ciudad es realmente hermoso!! Espero que nuestras expectativas del programa se realicen. Que tengamos la oportunidad de  conocer a los peregrinos, a sus historias y quizas que les ha empujado a empezar este Camino. Y que podamos de alguna manera ayudarlos.  Espero que sea esta una experiencia que nos va a marcar de un buen modo (claro) y que nos va a hacer personas más abiertas a lo desconocido y a lo distinto. Vamos a ver que va a pasar…!

?? My name is Stela and I come from Greece. I love being in nature and hiking, taking care of the environment, so when I saw this project on facebook, I thought it was a unique opportunity. So, after a long trip, one day I arrived in Santiago.

The days of training continued, when, in addition, I met the other volunteers, their motivation, their expectations. A very interesting experience from all aspects. Some of the activities we did impressed me, such as choosing a card from the Dixit game to define how we see ourselves in the program. And I realized that for us this project, as for the pilgrims, the Camino is also a personal journey.

On day 4 we arrived in Lugo. And maybe our residence would have disappointed me (at least at first) a bit, but the city center is really beautiful!! I hope that our expectations of the program are realized. That we have the opportunity to meet the pilgrims, their stories and perhaps what has pushed them to start this Camino. And that we can somehow help them. I hope that this is an experience that will mark us in a good way (of course) and that will make us people more open to the unknown and to what is different. Let’s see what will happen…
