Working With/For The New Generation

On the last week of September, our team visited the Elementary School of A Rúa. Our goal was to show the children our volunteering work and bring them in a first contact with the Camino De Santiago.

Trabajar con/para la nueva generación

La última semana de septiembre, nuestro equipo visitó la Escuela Primaria de A Rúa. Nuestro objetivo era mostrar a los niños nuestro trabajo de voluntariado y acercarles un primer contacto con el Camino De Santiago.

Play to Learn

At first we wanted to give them a background of the activities we have done until this point. What better way to do it than playing with them. We divided them into doubles. One child was blindfolded and the other one was the guide. It was an alternative way to play a game of Chase.
After that and when they have put out all their energy, we showed them in a practical way how important teamwork is. How we did it? They had to make the tallest and most stable tower with their own bodies. It was an absolute success

Jugar para aprender

Al principio queríamos darles un trasfondo de las actividades que hemos realizado hasta este momento. Qué mejor manera de hacerlo que jugando con ellos. Los dividimos en dobles. Un niño tenía los ojos vendados y el otro era el guía. Era una forma alternativa de jugar un juego de caza.

Posteriormente y cuando hayan puesto toda su energía, les mostramos de forma práctica lo importante que es el trabajo en equipo. ¿Cómo lo hicimos? Tuvieron que hacer la torre más alta y estable con sus propios cuerpos. Fue un éxito absoluto

Who are We?

After all the games, we returned to the classroom in which, after a meditation activity for focus and relaxation, we engaged into a presentation of our volunteer work. For the children it was easier to understand since they basically did the activities themselves during the games.

Después de todos los juegos, volvimos al aula en la que, después de una actividad de meditación para la concentración y la relajación, nos dedicamos a la presentación de nuestro trabajo voluntario. Para los niños era más fácil de entender ya que básicamente ellos mismos hacían las actividades durante los juegos.

Making our own Pilgrim Stamps

Finally, after the presentation, it was time to express our own way of how we see the Camiño. The children were given papers and materials for painting, in order to create their own Pilgrim Stamps. No need to say their drawings were amazing and very moving.

Finalmente, tras la presentación, llegó el momento de expresar nuestra propia forma de ver el Camiño. Los niños recibieron papeles y materiales para pintar, con el fin de crear sus propios Sellos Peregrinos. No hace falta decir que sus dibujos eran asombrosos y muy conmovedores.
