Leaving Arzúa

??So my two months here in Arzúa are almost over, only two more days to go. The first month here went by very fast, so it doesn’t feel so long. I love that I got to travel almost every weekend and explore Spain, Portugal and even France. It was amazing!

In other hand, I don’t really feel like this project was very helpful for the camino or to the community or for myself. I feel like the only good thing we did here was cleaning the camino. Although we also helped in pilgrim hostels, but they weren’t so busy all the days. We also tried to see what it’s like to do the camino for people with  disabilities, but right now I don’t know if it’s really going to change anything. I guess we just have to wait and see, if someone is really going to hear our recommendations.

Anyway I’m happy that I had this opportunity to see what it’s like to live in Spain, though it was just a small town, where there is not much to do. I got to talk with pilgrims and hear their experiences and now I’m looking forward to do the camino one day myself, too.

?? Así que mis dos meses aquí en Arzúa casi han terminado, solo faltan dos días más. El primer mes aquí pasó muy rápido, así que no se hizo tan largo. Me encanta poder viajar casi todos los fines de semana y explorar España, Portugal e incluso Francia. ¡Fue increíble!

Por otro lado, realmente no siento que este proyecto haya sido muy útil para el Camino, para la comunidad o para mí. Siento que lo único bueno que hicimos aquí fue limpiar el camino. Aunque también ayudamos en los albergues de peregrinos, pero no estaban tan ocupados todos los días. También tratamos de ver cómo es hacer el camino para personas con discapacidad, pero ahora mismo no sé si realmente va a cambiar algo. Supongo que solo tenemos que esperar y ver si alguien realmente va a escuchar nuestras recomendaciones.

De todos modos, estoy feliz de haber tenido esta oportunidad de ver cómo es vivir en España, aunque fuera solo un pueblo pequeño, donde no hay mucho que hacer. Pude hablar con peregrinos y escuchar sus experiencias y ahora estoy deseando hacer el Camino algún día yo también.
