First days in Spain/ Primeros dias en España

About the beginning of the project

This is the first project for me and also the first time living abroad. I chose this project because I wanted to experience something new and exciting, gain experiences and meet people from different backgrounds. I thought that meeting pilgrims from all over the world would be amazing, because I can hear different stories from different perspectives.
Arriving to Spain was a whole new experience because the temperature here is so high compared to the temperature in Estonia. When I left my country it was 13°C, rainy and windy. When I arrived in Spain it was about 27°C outside and sunny.
The first week here was busy. We were staying at the Don Bosco Youth Center in Santiago de Compostela (for training) where we had bunk beds and not much room. It was a challenge for me to stay in a thight place like this. We had training days on the beginning of the week and some days off at the end of the week.
On the last day of training, everyone moved to their locations. I moved to Ferrol and got to explore this interesting city. There are a lot of restaurants and small shops in Ferrol. I could only explore the city a little bit at the beginning of the project, because I was so tired from my trip to Spain and from the on-arrival-training.
During the project, I would like to learn basic Spanish phrases, improve my English and communication skills, gain new experiences and meet interesting people from different countries.

Sobre el inicio del proyecto

Este es el primer proyecto para mí y también la primera vez que vivo en el extranjero. Elegí este proyecto porque quería experimentar algo nuevo y emocionante, adquirir experiencias y conocer gente de diferentes orígenes. Pensé que conocer peregrinos de todo el mundo sería increíble, porque puedo escuchar diferentes historias desde diferentes perspectivas. Llegar a España fue una experiencia completamente nueva porque la temperatura aquí es muy alta en comparación con la temperatura en Estonia. Cuando salí de mi país hacía 13°C, lluvioso y ventoso. Cuando llegué a España hacía unos 27°C afuera y estaba soleado.
La primera semana aquí estuvo ocupada. Estábamos alojados en el Centro Juvenil Don Bosco de Santiago de Compostela (para la formación) donde teníamos literas y poco espacio. Fue un desafío para mí permanecer en un lugar tan estrecho como este. Tuvimos días de entrenamiento al principio de la semana y algunos días de descanso al final de la semana. En el último día de entrenamiento, todos se trasladaron a sus ubicaciones. Me mudé a Ferrol y pude explorar esta interesante ciudad. Hay muchos restaurantes y pequeñas tiendas en Ferrol. Solo pude explorar la ciudad un poco al comienzo del proyecto, porque estaba muy cansada por mi viaje a España y por el entrenamiento de llegada. Durante el proyecto, me gustaría aprender frases básicas en español, mejorar mi inglés y mis habilidades de comunicación, adquirir nuevas experiencias y conocer gente interesante de diferentes países.
