Ferrol pilgrim office

La semana pasada fue mi turno en la oficina de turismo situada en el puerto de Ferrol. Esta oficina está más focalizada a atender a las personas que inician el Camino Inglés ya que  se encuentra justo al lado del primer mojón que indica el kilómetro cero.

Por tanto, la mayoría de personas que acuden a esta oficina son peregrinos que desean comprar o sellar sus credenciales, adquirir algún mapa o preguntar dudas sobre el camino. Durante la semana nos visitaron bastantes de ellos, tanto en grupos como solos, pero no tantos como en el mes de agosto.

Personalmente, el tiempo que pasé trabajando en la oficina fue muy agradable porque aprendí varias cosas sobre la organización del Camino, como los requisitos para conseguir la Compostela al final o las diferentes etapas en las que se puede realizar el Camino Inglés. Sin embargo, la mejor parte para mí fue poder ver la ilusión y felicidad con la que los peregrinos comienzan el camino inglés, expectantes por lo que vivirán en los próximos días.

Last week it was my turn at the tourist office located in the port of Ferrol. This office is more focused to serve people who start the English Way as it is located right next to the first milestone that indicates the kilometre zero.

Therefore, most people who come to this office are pilgrims who want to buy or stamp their credentials, buy a map or ask questions about the way. During the week we were visited by quite a few of them, both in groups and alone, but not as many as in August.

Personally, the time I spent working in the office was very pleasant because I learned several things about the organisation of the Camino, such as the requirements to get the Compostela at the end or the different stages in which the English Way can be done. However, the best part for me was being able to see the excitement and happiness with which the pilgrims start the English Way, looking forward to what they will experience in the coming days.
