Finishing our volunteer service in Arzua

?? Our time here in Spain is coming to an end and here are my final thoughts.

We have been in Arzua for the last 2 months, met a lot of pilgrims, cleaned the camino, helped the local community, learned a lot about local culture.

The beginning of the project was a bit chaotic, as in I really had very little idea of what was going to happen and what we were going to do. While in the first month, our activities were pretty basic and mostly just cleaning the camino or helping in albergues, the second month turned out to be a lot more interesting with more various activites, like working with disabled people, doing activities in a school and kindergarten.

Overall I would rate the project 7 out of 10, where I would say the 3 lost points were during the first month. I hope the feedback we have given through out the project will be taken into account and applied. I believe we really helped the local community and hopefully inspired future volunteers.

Galicia has been a wonderful place, with picturesque views, warm people and rich history.

Hemos estado en Arzúa durante los últimos 2 meses, conocimos a muchos peregrinos, limpiamos el Camino, ayudamos a la comunidad y aprendimos mucho sobre la cultura local.

El comienzo del proyecto fue un poco caótico, ya que realmente tenía muy poca idea de lo que iba a pasar y lo que íbamos a hacer. Mientras que en el primer mes, nuestras actividades eran bastante básicas y en su mayoría solo limpiaban el camino o ayudábamos en los albergues, el segundo mes resultó ser mucho más interesante con más actividades diversas, como trabajar con personas con discapacidad, hacer actividades en una escuela y una guardería.

En general, calificaría el proyecto con un 7 sobre 10, donde diría que los 3 puntos perdidos fueron durante el primer mes. Espero que los comentarios que hemos dado a lo largo del proyecto se tengan en cuenta y se apliquen. Creo que realmente ayudamos a la comunidad local y, con suerte, inspiramos a futuros voluntarios.

Galicia ha sido un lugar maravilloso, con vistas pintorescas, gente cálida y rica historia.
